Parallels Desktop for Mac

Well, I can’t really say I’m too impressed with Parallels Desktop for Mac.  I’ve been trying for several days now to get a few OSes to work reliably in virtual machines on my Mac using the Parallels software.  And the only one that really works well so far is DOS 7.1.  I’ve installed Windows XP 2 or 3 times and it never works quite right.  One time I installed from the CD, but now it doesn’t boot.  Another time I used the software to “transport” an existing WinXP system into Parallels.  That one doesn’t boot either.  My first Windows 98 installation failed, and now my second one doesn’t seem to have any of the correct device driver support.  So I’m not so excited about this software as I was before.  Maybe I should have tried it more thoroughly before paying money for it.
